According to photos from Twitter, looted items were found in soldiers’ pockets after committing a military massacre during the war in Ukraine, which were sent to their families as gifts.
The symbolic use of the uniform as the lining of the package calls into question its function as a symbol of service, loyalty and patriotism towards the country. Is serving a country that has a dictatorship or leads to the annihilation of other nations or social groups disrespecting the good of others is still patriotism? Or, should the word and its meaning be edefined?
